This month’s product of the month is the RNIB Audible and Vibratory Liquid Level Indicator. This three pronged liquid level indicator allows blind and low vision people to tell when sufficient liquid has been poured into a cup, glass, or other container.
The device detects two levels of liquid. When the vessel is mostly full, the Liquid Level Indicator beeps and vibrates slowly. As liquid is close to approaching the very top the vessel, the indicator beeps more rapidly and vibrates constantly.
These Liquid Level Indicators are shipped from the Royal National Institute of the Blind in England and are available at the Adaptations Store at the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco.
