The presidential primary election is coming on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 and LightHouse wants to make sure you are ready to exercise your right to vote!
- February 5 – County elections will begin mailing vote-by-mail ballots on or before this date.
- February 20 – Last day to register to Vote in California.
- Election Day! – Tuesday, March 5th. Polls are open from 7 am – 8 pm.

Register to Vote
The first step to vote is registering! To register to vote, go to: https://registertovote.ca.gov/
If you are unsure if you are registered to vote, want to check or change your political party, or need to update your contact information, go to: https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/
The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, February 20.

San Francisco – Ballot Support Drop-Ins at LightHouse
All registered voters in California will be mailed a paper ballot in advance of the Presidential Primary.
Would you like to meet with a volunteer at a LightHouse office to help you complete your mail-in ballot?
LightHouse is hosting two Drop-In Ballot Support Days from 1 – 3 pm:
- Wednesday, February 21
- Thursday, February 29

Vote in Advance with a Volunteer – Bay Area
All registered voters in California will be mailed a paper ballot in advance of the Presidential Primary. Ballots will begin to be mailed on February 5th.
If you live in the Bay Area and would like to meet with a LightHouse volunteer to complete your vote-by-mail ballot, please email email@example.com or call 415 – 694 – 7638. All requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior. If we have less notice than that, we will try to accommodate your request.
Vote In person
Polling locations will be open in every California County to allow for in-person voting. Check with your local County Election Office for your polling location and information on accessible voting machines.
If you would like a volunteer to accompany you to the polls and you live in the Bay Area, you may request a volunteer by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (415) 694 – 7638. Please request this by Wednesday, February28.
After You Vote – Track Your Ballot
You can sign up to track the status of your ballot after you vote or drop off your ballot by signing up at: WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. You can receive automatic emails, SMS (texts), or voice call notifications.
