Aug 5 – Aug 11This year’s Music Camp will be led by our very own Masceo Williams and Lawrence Brown as co-directors. Students will learn the hallmarks of blind musicianship including individual performance practice, song writing, collaboration in an ensemble, and stage etiquette and performance in a house band. We’ll work with braille music and gain proficiency in accessible recording. Students will be coached on a range of instruments including vocals, guitar, drums/percussion, and piano, and gain valuable insight from guest speakers. We’ll finish off the weekend with a performance in our Redwood Grove Theater.

Do you use Google Docs for school, work, or yourself? Do you find yourself struggling to understand how Google's web application works?
The LightHouse team of access tech instructors are here to help unravel the mystery. Join us for an all-day workshop on Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and forms using a Windows PC and your favorite screen reader. Come explore ways you can leverage the power of Google suite for your daily productivity.
To participate, basic web navigation skills on the Windows platform are required and you must have your own laptop.

Aug 8Every week, our knitters gather to share their purls of wisdom and get in the loop on each other’s latest project, and usually end up in stitches spinning yarns. Whether you knit for pleasure, distraction or just practical economics, or you’ve never done it before and want to give it a try, there’s always room for another loom. Learn, refine, or teach a skill that makes your gift-giving budget lighter weight or support a student-led altruistic project like knitting chemo caps, beanies for babies, lap blankets or other creative applications.
