9:30 am: Stress Reduction & Meditation (online)9:30 am: Stress Reduction & Meditation (online) – Stress Reduction & Meditation Goes Virtual Please note that although LightHouse is closed for the holidays, this virtual class is still being held on December 22. Each Wednesday morning we offer a series of short, meditation-based practices for relaxation and stress reduction. The group is appropriate for both beginners and advanced practitioners and instruction is provided in all aspects of the practice. Instructor Jeffrey Schneider has more than 40 years of meditation and teaching experience. It is a virtual class using the Zoom platform—everyone is welcome as little or often as they like. Dial in, find a comfortable position, breathe deeply, clear your head, and de-stress. RSVP to Sabrina Bolus at Sbolus@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7607. 5:00 pm: Midweek Meditation and Movement5:00 pm: Midweek Meditation and Movement – Between class obligations, the additional hours of homework, and many other responsibilities students have in their lives it becomes clear that a stretch break might be a good addition to the week. To help students structure a break this into their busy week the LightHouse Youth Program is starting a Midweek Meditation and Movement series. Each week our class leader, Ellie Kneer will lead us in activities that will help us feel a little more grounded through activities such as yoga, meditation, and other mindfulness exercises. Activities will be geared for all experience levels and will soon be your mid-week escape with your blind and low vision friends. Who: All students 24 years of age and younger |

6:00 pm: 30% & Growing Goes Virtual6:00 pm: 30% & Growing Goes Virtual – We are in for a real treat this month to have a guest speaker who will make an employment related topic fun, as well as informative. The individual who hits this mark in both categories is Dr. Hoby Wedler. Dr. Wedler wears many professional hats, one of them being a blind scientist. I have asked Him to share his experience with what it takes to start your own business as a blind entrepreneur. What have been his successes? Failures? Then, of course, we will learn how his latest venture into the spice world came about! To RSVP and receive Zoom access information, contact Community Outreach Coordinator, Sheri Albers at salbers@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7331. |
