Thank you for your support!

Chris Downey rests after completing the 50 mile circuit of the 2010 Cycle For Sight fundraiser in support of LightHouse for the Blind.

“I went blind in the winter of 2008, and I was determined to continue my career as an architect, as well as pursue my other interests and goals. Whether it was cycling with friends, dancing with my wife, taking my kids to the park or practicing baseball with my son, I was going to keep doing it,” said Chris Downey, LightHouse Board member, of his transition from being sighted to blind.

Chris received orientation and mobility training, as well as Braille instruction at the LightHouse, and has gone from “client” to motivated Board member, donor and fundraiser. “At the LightHouse, I learned important skills that have enabled me to continue to live a rich, fulfilling life. I do things differently than I used to, but I still do them. The LightHouse helped show me that I can.”

Now it’s simpler and easier to help the LightHouse through PayPal. Your gift is tax-deductible – the LightHouse is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Our tax identification number is 94-1415317.
