The webinar will extoll the virtues of Tactile Maps Automated Production (TMAP) - a project promoting independent travel and tactile map literacy for blind people, that has timely applications for O&M instruction in a distance learning context. Participants will gain an understanding of how to use the TMAP app to generate braille and tactile street maps of any address, and supplement Orientation & Mobility instruction using TMAP effectively. In addition to demonstrating the use of TMAP for Orientation and Mobility, the presentation will also touch on Compensatory Skills necessary for accessing the core curriculum including concept development, communication modes, organization and study skills, access to print materials, and the use of braille/Nemeth, tactile graphics and object and/or tactile symbols. Our award-winning Employment Immersion program is now available virtually. Now is the time to join us via the Zoom conferencing platform.
