1:00 pm: Milestone Meetup: Annual ETC Winter Trip1:00 pm: Milestone Meetup: Annual ETC Winter Trip – Milestone Meetup: Annual ETC Winter Trip Each year, LightHouse partners with our friends from Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC) for their always awesome overnight seasonal adventures. 2020 will be no different for our LightHouse thrill seekers with a ski trip in January, kayaking in June and rafting in August. These always awesome trips are led by fantastic ETC guides who will introduce you to the basic techniques of that trip's sport while we experience the fun and magic of the wilderness with our blind and low vision friends. In January, LightHouse invites all students ages 14 and up that are blind or have low vision to join us for our annual winter trip with ETC over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. Our two-night adventure starts Saturday afternoon and will take us to the ETC winter cabin in Arnold, where we will meet our guides and friends from ETC for our adventure. The weekend will consist of all day cross country skiing Sunday and a hike through the world's largest giant sequoias on Monday before we return to the Bay Area that afternoon. Who: Youth and Adults that are blind or have low vision (ages 14 and up) If you are interested in signing up for this trip or have any questions, please contact Jamey Gump at 415.694.7372 or youth@lighthouse-sf.org. |
