LightHouse invites our students and community members to join us virtually Tuesdays in November to watch the Netflix limited series ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE tells the story of two teenagers during World War II, one a blind girl in Nazi-occupied France, the other a German orphan boy pressed into service by the Nazi army. With this story not only being about a blind teenager, but also played by a blind actress, the LightHouse Community Services team would like to invite our friends and community to join us for our latest intergenerational series of our Reel Escape Audio Description Club.

The Reel Escape Audio Description Club is open for all ages.

What:  ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE audio-described four-part series
When:  November 7, 14, 28 & December 5 at 7:00 pm (There is no screening on November 21, which is during the week of Thanksgiving.)

This November, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery, a contemporary ballet company, will release the on-demand screening of SKETCH 13: Lucky. Offered in four parts, we will release a dance work every Wednesday. Each work includes an audio description and will be available to view for 14 days.

Grab a blanket and your favorite beverage, and enjoy these strikingly different ballets from the comfort of your home.

Join the Museum of Craft & Design for a free and inspiring Make Art evening of art making and viewing in the Museum of Craft & Design's comfortable gallery spaces. Walk through the exhibit to learn about and unpack a selection of works on view. Move from table to table and try out different materials and techniques used by the artists and adapted for an enjoyable tactile experience. Socialize with other arts enthusiasts over light refreshment. All tied together, it Makes for an uplifting experience.
Museum of Craft & Design is located at 2569 3rd Street, right on the T line in San Francisco.

Bring your giggles and wiggles to Little Learners weekly Zoom Playgroup, Thursdays from 9:30am - 10:15am. Enjoy fun activities with your little one, ages 0-6, while learning strategies to support your child's visual, sensory, motor and concept development. Connect with other families who understand and share your experience raising a child who is blind, has low vision, or Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Weekly activities are designed to be accessible for all, and to build upon monthly themes that you can integrate into your family routines. All are welcome!

Let's gather together in the 11th floor art space at LightHouse San Francisco at 1155 Market to explore a different art process, style or media each moth while connecting with fellow creatives. These are exploratory, process-oriented classes that invite you to work at whatever level you are, be it first timer to expert.
During the months of November and December, let’s explore projects that celebrate gratitude and gifting culture, ranging from gratitude stones to stitched ornaments, pop-up cards to simple journals and more.
