    We offer a series of short, meditation-based practices each Wednesday morning for relaxation and stress reduction. The group is appropriate for beginners and advanced practitioners, and instruction is provided in all aspects of the practice. Instructor Jeffrey Schneider has more than 40 years of meditation and teaching experience. It is a virtual class using the Zoom platform—everyone is welcome as little or often as they like.     We'll be embarking on an unforgettable journey into the 1980s with the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. This captivating show revolves around a group of kids in a small town, facing supernatural mysteries, government conspiracies, and the enigmatic powers of a mysterious girl with psychokinetic abilities.

    Every Thursday evening at 8:00 pm, join us via Zoom to watch the latest episode of Stranger Things and connect with your LightHouse and EHC friends. It's a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of excitement and adventure while enjoying the company of like-minded peers.

    Parents, Please Take Note: Stranger Things is rated TV-14 for horror elements and language, which may not be suitable for kids under 17.     Vision is a solutions-based, peer-led drop-in support group that runs on a 12-week cycle of topics based on Hannah Fairbairn’s 2019 book, “When You Can't Believe Your Eyes: Vision Loss and Personal Recovery.” We discuss different topics and share our experiences, thoughts, and knowledge. Reading is not required. However, if you would like topic details beyond our discussions, please refer to the book which is available on NLS BARD (DBC11619).

    November 6: Chapter 12, titled "A Whole Person Again," emphasizes self-trust and the power of familial empowerment. It accentuates the role of teamwork in overcoming challenges and underscores the significance of seeking personal and professional assistance when dealing with vision loss. The chapter also addresses strategies for job retention and showcases the therapeutic benefits of engaging in charitable or civic work as a way to regain purpose and identity amidst adversity.

    1. The final session for 2023 is on November 6. We'll resume in January 2024. More details to follow.

    Are you a blind or visually impaired college student looking to make new friends, and reunite with old ones? Would you like to increase your leadership, advocacy, and networking skills over fun and informative activities and outings with peers? Are you looking to get out in the community and explore new places?

    Well then, look no further. College Spaces from Different Places is coming back for its third year! College Spaces from Different Places is a hybrid program for all college students who are blind or visually impaired from across the state.

    For our first meeting, we will be focusing on getting to know each other and cultivating community with new and old friends over a series of icebreakers, games, and maybe a few debate competitions. We will finish off the evening by discussing ideas about the future of College Spaces, from leadership to outings, speakers and beyond. Bring your friends and some friendly competition, and we’ll see you there!
