It's time for the 2024 Superfest Disability Film Festival, which features films and storytelling that bring depth and breadth to disabled lives and experiences.

You will have online, on-demand access to all the films that will be screened in-person at the Exploratorium on October 19, along with several films that will be screened exclusively online. On-demand online films access runs the entire Superfest weekend, from Thursday, October 17 at 12:01 am Pacific to Sunday, October 20 at 11:59 pm Pacific. After you unlock a screening, you will have 96 hours to finish watching it, so be sure to sign in and unlock each screening by Sunday night. You may pause and resume at your leisure within this timeframe. 

All the films will have the option to toggle audio description and captioning on and off.ion to toggle audio descriptoin and captioning on and off.

Dance Series 1 introduces two choreographers to Smuin audiences, Jennifer Archibald and Matthew Neenan. Archibald, globally in demand, creates a World Premiere in her first project with Smuin. Neenan, declared “one of the most appealing and singular choreographic voices in ballet today” by The New York Times, also makes his Smuin debut. His character-driven The Last Glass, set to music by the indie-rock band Beirut, is the perfect showcase for the individuality of Smuin’s Artists. Rounding out the program is Amy Seiwert’s Renaissance, set to music by Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble, which returns to the Bay Area following its New York premiere at The Joyce Theater.

Get together with Superfest filmmakers and attendees for a virtual conversation with your community. What did you love about the 2024 Superfest Disability Film Festival? How did it feel to see our stories without the stereotypes or pity? What was your best laugh? What film went over your head? Learn from the filmmakers about their process and inspiration; chat with fellow attendees about their perspectives and interpretations. Let’s talk about it all! Bianca Laureano, our incredible Cafe Crip moderator, will facilitate the conversation. ASL/CART.
