Vision: Peer-led Support Group (online)
Vision is a solutions-based, peer-led drop-in support group that runs on a 12-week cycle of topics based on Hannah Fairbairn’s 2019 book, “When You Can’t Believe Your Eyes: Vision Loss and Personal Recovery.” We discuss different topics and share our experiences, thoughts, and knowledge. Reading is not required. However, if you would like topic details beyond our discussions, please refer to the book which is available on NLS BARD (DBC11619).
10/02: Chapter 10, Getting Out on Your Own, includes essential aspects of daily life and mobility, from choosing clothing, to navigating transportation options, and addressing street encounters. It also delves into the importance of physical health and adaptive exercise.
10/16: Chapter 11, Personal Recovery, addresses different aspects of life following sight loss, including building and nurturing social connections, navigating relationships, and caring for children. It also discusses enjoying home entertainment, embarking on accessible travel adventures, and engaging with accessible art and culture.
