Volunteer
Join now and become a part of the LightHouse team! The LightHouse volunteer program has something for everyone.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a LightHouse volunteer. Since we first opened our doors in 1902, individuals have given the gift of time to the LightHouse. Volunteers have been at the heart of all the LightHouse has to offer and we couldn't do it without you!
How Do I Get Involved?
Becoming a volunteer is easy. Follow these three simple steps:
First, Download the Volunteer Application, complete it, and submit it.
Second, once your application has been processed and accepted, you will be scheduled for Vision Loss Awareness Training, which is the training that all volunteers receive to help prepare them for working with our clients.
Third, all volunteers must sign an agreement, committing to working with the LightHouse for at least six months. Also, Personal Services Volunteers, Youth Volunteers and Camp Volunteers are required to be Live Scan fingerprinted before beginning at the LightHouse.

"Roderick Seymore is a man for all seasons. He has transformed my quality of life. I am blind and I need help to browse the internet and Roderick phones me on a weekly basis. His internet access, his mouse, his voice, his brain, his time of day. He's a professional with other things in his life and he gives me about an hour of his time a week. If that's not amazing generosity I don't know what is. He has a tremendous intuitive rapport with the kinds of things I'm interested in and is most resourceful in finding relevant information on the internet. With his generosity and intelligence and altruism he has transformed my quality of life."--Frank Ahern, LightHouse client
