It’s been two years (2016) since the Unified English Braille (UEB) was implemented in United States. If you know Contracted English Braille and would like to fully adapt the changes made with UEB, come join us for three Tuesdays (March 20, 27 and April 3), from 10:00-noon at 1155 Market Street, San Francisco. The workshop training is free to persons 55 and older and $40 to persons under 55. After completing these three workshops, you will be able to:

  • Identify all the contraction codes eliminated in UEB
  • Know the words bridging across syllables in UEB
  • Know the use of spacing between words in UEB that were previously joined together
  • Identify UEB punctuation marks, typeform indicators, computer notations, and other symbols
  • UEB contraction booklets available to use in workshop (You may purchase these booklets for $10.)Space is limited to 12 students. To sign up for this UEB workshop, please contact: Divina Carlson at 415-694-7367 or email at dcarlson@lighthouse-sf.org
