Lost In Space: A Virtual Workshop On Orientation

Do you have a terrible sense of direction? Is it hard to learn your way around new spaces? Are you afraid to explore new places on your own? If so, this workshop is for you. Come discover what you can do at home to improve your sense of direction. Learn about three components of spatial orientation and what you can do to strengthen your skill in these area. Learn the benefits of cardinal directions and using your smartphone’s built-in compass, explore the power of being able to read and even construct tactile maps, and understand the importance of correctly estimating distances and using spatial vocabulary words. The workshop will include practical things that you can do every day to improve the way you understand and navigate space.

This 2-hour Zoom presentation is provided at no cost to students living in San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity Counties; attendees living in other areas are asked to pay a $75 fee, payable by credit card.
