Guest Speaker Series: Jane Glasby, Services at the SF Library for the Blind & Print Disabled
Monday, October 22, 1-2 PM

If you are unable to read traditional print resources, the SFPL has just the resource for you and so much more. The Library for the Blind & Print Disabled is your portal to the National Library Services—they’ll get you signed up for a free talking book player and access to hundreds of thousands of books and magazines. Timely access to hundreds of daily national newspapers and magazines by simply making a phone call? Yes, they can set you up with NFB Newsline as well. Both of these modes of accessing print are also available in a variety of other formats—apps, online, braille—there’s a format that’s just right for you. And if that’s not enough, they offer a variety of other resources, like an audio described movie collection, Access Technology resources, a book club, yoga, and all manner of art, music, and opportunities to exercise your mind, body, and soul. Library Manager Jane Glasby returns to cover the basics and fill us in on what’s new at the LBPD. To RSVP, contact Adult Program Coordinator Serena Olsen at solsen@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7316.
