Fall Migration: Should I Stay, or Should I Go: Accessible Birding (in-person)
Salesforce Transportation Center – Park Level #4, at the top of the escalators @ 425 Mission Street, San Francisco
Join LightHouse as we take flight with our new partnership with the Golden Gate Bird Alliance (GGBA) as we hold our first event called, “Fall Migration: Should I Stay, or Should I Go?”
Have you ever heard of “Birding” and thought it was only a luxury reserved for the sighted world? Have you always been enamored with the beautiful songs of our winged friends from above? Have you wanted to identify the types of birds that hang out in your neighborhood? Well, this is the event for you! “Chirp, Honk, Tweet, Quack, Peep” They are all calling you to join the LightHouse for another awesome event!
Our new partners with GGBA will first take us around the Salesforce Transit Park as they identify by sound and describe in detail the birds that are residing there. We will then end up at the Barebottle beer garden where we will have a snack and learn about the Fall Migration Season that is now happening up and down the California coast. This promises to be a unique experience that we hope you can enjoy!
A big thank you to our hosts, Jeanette Pettibone and Daniel Scali from the Golden Gate Bird Alliance. To learn more about the other awesome work the Golden Gate Bird Alliance is doing, please visit: goldengatebirdalliance.org. We would also encourage all to join us in celebrating Birdability Week 2024 whether you can join us in person or not!
If you have questions or wish to reserve one of the 10 spots for this outing, please contact Jamey Gump no later than Wednesday October 23 at JGump@lighthouse-sf.org or by phone at 415-694-7372.
