Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder is a condition in which the sleep-wake cycle shifts later each day, making it difficult to maintain a consistent sleep schedule. It most commonly affects people who are totally blind, but individuals with low vision may also experience disrupted circadian rhythms. Research shows that consistent evening routines, like meditation, can help reinforce external time cues, which may be beneficial for individuals experiencing Non-24.
Join us for a unique meditation series designed to support your body’s natural rhythm before sleep. Dennis Billups, longtime activist, community leader, and meditation guide, will lead sessions that help you connect with your circadian rhythm to quiet the mind, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
This series pairs well with our upcoming talk on Understanding Non-24 and the Circadian Rhythm with nurse educator Jennifer Lyman on Wednesday, August 7. We encourage you to attend both events to help strengthen your sleep and wellness routine. (See listing above under Wednesday’s events.)
