A Day in the Castro

A Day in the Castro

May 27

Join LightHouse in the Castro and get to know your fellow LGBT community members and allies as we gear up to march in this years PRIDE parade! We will meet at Mission Dolores Park to socialize over an optional picnic lunch on the grass. For those who would like a provided lunch, there will be a $15 dollar fee payable via cash, check or Venmo. If you wish to have lunch provided and have any food allergies or restrictions, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs. Following lunch we will explore the Castro using an audio-walking tour app called Detour.

We will spend the day experiencing the empowering diversity and history of the LGBT community in the Castro. We will stop at various historical spots that played a critical role in the movement for LGBT equality and transparency. The day will end with a docent led tour of the GLBT History museum. The GLBT History museum exhibit features, "Lavender Tinted Glasses: A Groovy Gay Look at the Summer of Love" to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the 1967 Summer of Love. Exact meeting location and details will be provided for those who RSVP.

Participants must RSVP by Thursday, May 25th to Laura Millar at lmillar@lighthouse-sf.org or by calling 415-694-7345
