Volunteering
Volunteer Opportunities at Enchanted Hills Camp
Volunteers are an important part of the EHC community! Whether you want to spend a full session supporting campers, share a special skill or activity, or attend alongside a specific camper who needs additional support, there are several ways to get involved.
Below are some of the volunteer roles we are looking to fill but all start with our volunteer application.

General Program Volunteers
General Program Volunteers become part of the camp team for one or more camp sessions. These volunteers take on many of the same day-to-day responsibilities as our summer counselors and help create a safe, welcoming, and fun camp experience.
General Program Volunteers may:
- Support and spend time with an assigned cabin group
- Assist campers in navigating camp and participating in activities
- Help with daily program activities and special events
- Support meals, transitions, evening activities, and other parts of the camp day
- Encourage camper choice, independence, participation, and connection
- Work alongside EHC counselors, Area Leaders, and other members of the camp team
Because these volunteers become part of the camp team, we ask General Program Volunteers to commit to at least one full camp session.
Specialized Program Volunteers
Have a skill, hobby, profession, or activity you would love to share with our campers? Specialized Program Volunteers bring their experience and enthusiasm to EHC by helping us offer unique programs and activities. Examples might include music, art, sports, outdoor recreation, science, technology, cooking, gardening, performing arts, adaptive recreation, or another skill you think our campers would enjoy. The time commitment for these opportunities is flexible and depends on the activity. Some volunteers may join us for a few hours or a single day, while others may participate for several days, a full camp session, or multiple sessions throughout the summer. You don’t necessarily need to be a professional or expert. If you have something you enjoy, experience sharing it with others, and an idea that could add to the camp experience, we would love to hear about it.
One-on-One Support Providers
Some campers require additional personal support beyond what our summer camp team can provide. In these situations, a camper may attend EHC with a One-on-One Support Provider. This support may include assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, mobility, communication, behavioral support, medication-related needs, or other individualized assistance identified before camp. One-on-One Support Providers are often a family member, friend, caregiver, aide, or other person who already knows the camper and understands their individual support needs. Unlike General Program Volunteers, a One-on-One Support Provider’s primary responsibility is to the specific camper they are attending camp with. They are not expected to lead camp activities, supervise a cabin group, or provide personal support to other campers. One-on-One Support Providers are still part of the camp community and are encouraged to participate in activities alongside the camper they support.
How can you help?
Give to the Campership Campaign
Each summer, hundreds of campers attend EHC at no cost to them or their families, but the true cost of camp is significant. Through the Campership Campaign, your donation directly supports meals, staffing, adaptive equipment, counselor training, and the full cost of ensuring each camper has a life-changing experience at camp. Every contribution, large or small, helps us keep EHC accessible to all.
For campers who take part in the Campership Campaign, fundraising can also be a valuable learning experience and resume building tool. By reaching out to their communities, sharing their stories, and helping raise support for camp, students can build communication, self-advocacy, networking, and other skills that can serve them well in future employment.

Help Spread the Word About Renting Enchanted Hills During the Off Season
When Enchanted Hills isn’t hosting camp programs, we make our beautiful Napa campus available for rentals, retreats, and events. These rentals help offset the cost of operating camp and allow us to keep our programs as affordable as possible for the community. If you know an organization, company, or group looking for a unique retreat location, please share information about renting EHC—or encourage them to reach out for a tour. Your referral makes a real difference. More information can be found here
