4 (All day): Advocacy Through Storytelling: Amplify Your Voice (In Person) (All day) Sep 4 – Sep 6 When: September 4, 5, 6 Where: Enchanted Hills Camp, Napa Transportation from: San Francisco, Berkeley and Santa Rosa Cost and Registration: Located after the event description “What if your most powerful advocacy tool is a story only you can tell?” Join LightHouse for a weekend focused on self-advocacy, independence, and community. Storyteller, author, and Moth host Corey Rosen will lead an interactive workshop designed to help you discover, shape, and confidently share personal stories that inspire understanding and action. Through guided activities, partner exercises, and supportive coaching, participants will learn how everyday experiences can become powerful tools for self-advocacy, community education, and meaningful conversations with policymakers, professionals, friends, and family. To inform our speakers, share the topics that matter most to you. Email ideas to sbolus@lighthouse-sf.org. These might include healthcare, transportation, employment, issues related to aging, and more. Outside of workshop time, enjoy all that Enchanted Hills Camp has to offer, including nature walks, music, swimming, great food, opportunities to connect with others, time to relax, and more. Cost: Thanks to the generosity of a donor who believes everyone deserves the opportunity to attend, we are pleased to be able to offer a very discounted rate. $250.00 per person Limited scholarships are available for those with financial need; please apply if cost is a barrier. Contact Sabrina Personal Care Attendants (PCAs): $150 (covers lodging, meals, and workshops for the weekend). Help Someone Else Experience Camp: If you're able, please consider paying it forward by making an additional contribution to our scholarship fund. Your generosity can help another blind or low vision participant attend this life-changing weekend who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
