Movement Safety for Indoor and Outdoor Travel
This course runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. between September 22 and October 8.
Movement Safety for Indoor and Outdoor Travel will give adults 55 and over improved stability and balance during indoor and outdoor. Exercises taught and completed during the class will help students feel more “sure-footed” when traversing stairs, stable when walking on uneven sidewalks, and strong when transitioning between sit-to-stand. Additional strategies will be provided to reduce fall risk.
The course is divided into six 75-minute lessons — two lessons per week for 3 weeks. The class will meet from 11 – 12:15pm on the following dates:
Week 1: Tuesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 24t
Week 2: Tuesday, September 29 and Thursday, October 1
Week 3: Tuesday, October 6 and Thursday, October 8
The class is open to LightHouse students ages 55 years and older. Course capacity is 10 students.
