This page contains information about the Enchanted Hills Camp (EHC) programs so that future and current campers can know what to expect during their camp experience.

What Does a Day at EHC Look Like?

No two days at Enchanted Hills Camp are exactly alike! Each day is filled with opportunities for fun, learning, independence, and connection. Campers participate in a variety of activities throughout the day, with opportunities to explore their interests, try something new, spend time with friends, and experience everything EHC has to offer.

A typical day begins around 7:00 am and continues until approximately 9:00 or 10:00 pm, depending on the age group and session. Days include a mix of structured activities, downtime, meals together, cabin time, and evening programs that bring the camp community together.

Meals & Activity Choice

Mealtimes are an important part of the camp day, giving everyone a chance to come together, hear announcements, learn about upcoming activities, and connect as a community. Meals are served family-style at 8:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 6:00 pm in Forest Commons. Our kitchen can accommodate most dietary restrictions through the alternative meals prepared for each meal. All alternative meals are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten- and dairy-free. These meals are reserved for participants who request alternative meals on their camper application.

Rather than following the same activity schedule all week, campers hear the day’s activity options and choose what they would like to participate in during each program period. They can return to an old favorite, try something completely new, or build their day around the activities that interest them most. Specific activity choices are announced verbally at the end of meals, digitally through a QR Code that can be found in main program areas, and in braille or print in the forest commons dining hall.

Activities are designed with blind and low vision campers in mind, and staff are available to provide instruction, adaptations, and support so campers can participate as independently as possible. Activity offerings may vary throughout the week based on the session, weather, staffing, and camper interest, so there is often something different to choose from each day.

Program Areas

Our Area Leaders orginzie and host activities across six main program areas. Specific activities change daily and vary by session, so there is always something different to try.

  • Arts & Crafts: Creative projects, tactile art, and opportunities to explore different materials and techniques.

Evening Activities

After dinner, the whole camp comes together for an evening activity. These programs are a chance to connect, play, celebrate, and have fun with campers and staff from across the camp community.

Evening activities vary by session and may include:

  • Opening and closing campfire
  • Talent show
  • Trivia, Game, or Casino night
  • Live Music, Karaoke, or Dances
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Pool Party
  • Night Hike
  • Audio-described movie nights

Whether you’re performing at the talent show, cheering on friends, dancing, solving clues, or relaxing by the campfire, evening activities are a chance to end the day together as a camp community.

Theme Days & Special Events

Some sessions also feature special theme days, such as Olympic Day, Pirate Day, or Carnival Day. On these days, activities throughout camp take on the day’s theme and the whole community joins together for games, challenges, costumes, celebrations, and plenty of camp fun.

Packing for EHC

Packing for camp can feel like a lot, and we’re here to help. The list below is meant to make things easier and help all prepare for their time at EHC.

Napa enjoys cool mornings and evenings, along with warm summer days. Please pack comfortable clothing for a range of temperatures. Campers should bring enough for the full session, as laundry is only available in limited or emergency situations.

Medications, store money, musical instruments, and similar important items should be packed separately and be easily accessible for check-in at the welcome table.

Please label everything you bring. While we do our best to help keep track of belongings, EHC and the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings. items. We strongly encourage labeling all items, including bedding and luggage, with the camper’s full name using permanent ink or sew-in labels. Including a simple packing list inside the luggage can also be very helpful.

Campers are responsible for the care and well-being of their dog guide throughout their stay, including feeding, watering, relieving, and managing their dog’s waste.

Designated dog relieving areas are available around camp, and we ask that all waste be picked up and properly disposed of at the designated dog relief stations. Dog-friendly water stations are also available at strategic locations throughout camp.

If your dog guide was not included on your application, please let us know before your arrival so we can try to assign housing near an appropriate relieving area.

Please feel free to contact the EHC team if you have any specific questions!

Camp Song

Music has always been a big part of EHC, and we love to celebrate that! There will be times for more formal performances, groups sing along, or just time to jam with or with EHC friends. One of our favorite songs is our EHC camp song. To help those new to camp learn it or for those that might need a refresher, the lyrics to this song and a link to where you can find more camp music is below.

The EHC Camp Song

(Verse 1)
I want to wake up at enchanted Hills, where the Songbird sings hello
And the sun comes creeping into where I’m sleeping, And the redwoods Whisper low
I want to wander through the Wildwoods, Where the rippling water flows
And come trickling back to Enchanted Hills, to the camp that we love so

(Verse 2)
I want to wake up at Enchanted Hills, where the family says hello
And the people are helping each other, and the love begins to (grow or flow)
I want to wander through the Wildwoods, at a place I call my home
And come drifting back to Enchanted Hills, to the camp that we love so
