Speak Up Skills: Strategies for Independence, Advocacy, and Conversation for Blind and Low Vision Adults (online)

Tuesdays in March, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Online Event
This six-week, peer-led group offers space to share experiences, insights, and strategies for living independently with changing vision. Each session includes interactive learning through lessons, group discussion, and role-play practice, following a cycle of topics from Hannah Fairbairn’s When You Can’t Believe Your Eyes: Vision Loss and Personal Recovery. Build communication skills such as self-advocacy, boundary setting, and speaking up in medical settings, social events, and at home. Reading the book is not required, but it is available on BARD (DBC11619).
