Give the Gift of Campership this Giving Tuesday
Today, December 2, is Giving Tuesday, an annual global generosity movement. It is a day for individuals, families, and organizations to give back to their communities by donating money, volunteering time, or performing acts of kindness to support nonprofits and charitable causes.
This year, LightHouse is excited to announce that all gifts received during our Giving Tuesday campaign will go towards funding camperships for blind, DeafBlind, and low vision campers of all ages to attend Enchanted Hills Camp 2026 summer season.

“The most memorable experience that I’ve had at camp was when I was a kid and went to the top of Mount Veeder – the Napa High School football team helped me all the way up the mountain in my wheelchair,” shares Ken Rossi, longtime camper and beloved member of the Enchanted Hills and LightHouse community.
“This summer, one of the camp counselor’s dad, Adam, helped me up the mountain again. It’s a very rugged and steep dirt road that leads to the top of Mount Veeder. One word I would use to describe Enchanted Hills Camp is magical. It’s a magical place where one can try new things and have great support from loving staff.”

Enchanted Hills Camp has been an empowering and blind-positive oasis for blind, DeafBlind, and low vision campers of all ages for 75 years. From hiking through the redwoods to making music under the stars, Enchanted Hills Camp gives its campers more than just hours of fun; it provides confidence, independence, and a deep sense of belonging. For generations of campers past and many more to come, Enchanted Hills Camp is the experience of a lifetime.
So many of our visitors are immediately taken with the magic of camp, but most people are surprised to learn just how much it costs to run such a successful camp year after year. While the experience is free for each of our hundreds of campers to attend every year, it definitely has a hefty price tag to run for the LightHouse. That being said, we love it and want to continue “doing what we do” not only next year, but for the next 75 years!
Here are some numbers, just for reference:
- EHC has served thousands and thousands of campers, from ages 2 to 82 for 75 seasons.
- The cost per camper is approximately $2500 per week, which includes lodging, meals, and 12+ hours of camp activities per day.
- We had over 350 campers in the 2025 season.
- As you know, in lieu of asking campers to pay, we are asking for donations from our community supporters

Enchanted Hills has provided unique experiences to BVI campers (and their families!) from across the country, and with your support, we can do so for generations to come.
Every donation makes a difference, no matter the amount. This Giving Tuesday, you can give the gift of fantastical exploration, independence, growth, and lifelong memories that encourage and empower blind positivity! To make a donation, please click button below.
