Mike Cole, a veteran of all things blindness, will lead this call-in forum to discuss the many day-to-day ins-and-outs of blindness—from daily living in your home environment to navigating the vast expanse of bureaucracies. We have a very special guest joining us for our White Cane Awareness Day 30% & Growing celebration. No one knows better the importance of good mobility skills as it relates to employment than a blind cane travel instructor. Domonique Lawless is just such a person–she teaches cane travel at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired and has also launched her own podcast on the world of blind employment, so we couldn’t think of a better brain to invite for picking.
RSVP to Serena Olsen at SOlsen@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7316.

On Friday, October 23, LightHouse Orientation & Mobility Specialists, Jennifer Huey and Sarah McIntyre, and MAD Lab Director, Greg Kehret, along with Steve Lowry, a Teacher of the Visually Impaired at the Washington State School for the Blind, will Present a live webinar at the Northern Rockies AER (Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired) conference.
