Hats Off to Loom Knitting
Thursday, November 14 & 21, 10 a.m. - Noon
Cold weather is finally descending in California! Have you ever wanted to knit that newborn baby in your life a cute and cuddly hat? Or, do you find yourself wishing that you could whip up a nifty warm cap for your cold head? Wish no more and come join the LightHouse yarn crafters for some loopy loom fun. This class will be taught over two separate sessions. In the first session, you will learn how to cast on and get your hat started using the e-wrap stitch, and about optional embellishments like adding a brim or a pom-pom. In the second session, you will learn how to bind off and finish your hat. Skill level: This class is geared to anyone who would like to spend a few hours learning how to loom knit a hat of any size from any type of loom. You do not need any particular skill except the willingness to learn, be patient and have fun!

Supplies needed:
A loom with 24, 36, or 41 pegs. You choose how adventurous to be
A looming tool (usually included with a loom)
A tapestry needle
One skein of yarn of your choosing (preferably 4 ply or thicker; chunky yarn is really great for absolute beginners)
Bringing your own supplies is strongly recommended; we will have a limited supply of materials to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis.

RSVP to Adult Program Coordinator Serena Olsen at solsen@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7316.
