LightHouse Youth Program: Harry Potter Club
Saturday, April 30
Grab your wands, cauldrons, and your Harry Potter knowledge and join your Lighthouse friends for our student driven Harry Potter Club. This April our monthly gathering of Harry Potter enthusiasts will take us on an in-person adventure to the Westfield San Francisco Centre under the supervision of LightHouse staff and our mentors. During our Saturday, April 30 adventure, participants will get the chance to watch the latest movie in the Wizarding World, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and have lunch with our blind and low vision friends.
The outing will begin at LightHouse Headquarters and will depart at 11:00 am. From there the group will take Muni for a short ride to the Westfield San Francisco Centre where we will get lunch and watch Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore with audio description. After we have had some time with our friends and watched the latest movie in the Wizarding World, we will take Muni back to LightHouse where our program will wrap up for the day around 5:00pm. LightHouse is happy to provide the movie ticket and Muni fair for participants that RSVP by noon of Friday April 29. However, students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch or money to purchase lunch at the Westfield San Francisco Centre food court.
LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired does not support discriminatory or hateful speech in any form. We stand by the LGBTQ+ community and all fans who found a home in the Harry Potter series and will work to provide a safe space for fans.
Who: 10 LightHouse students who are in middle or high school with limited space for LightHouse college aged mentors
What: In person outing to a movie theater to watch Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore including lunch in the mall with your LightHouse friends
When: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 30 (Please note - timing for this event may be adjusted depending on movie times. Final outing times will be shared with those that RSVP)
Where: Gathering at the LightHouse Headquarters and traveling to Century Theater in the Westfield San Francisco Centre
Cost: Free to attend, however students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch or money to purchase lunch at the Westfield San Francisco Centre food court
