Offers activities, friendly conversation and an assortment of classes and support groups to homebound elders, and those who find it difficult to go to a community senior center. You can participate from the comfort of your own home through telephone conference calls. No special equipment is needed and the calls are completely free.

Senior Information and Assistance

 Helps identify options and locate resources. Services include advocacy and home safety assessments, assistance with government benefits and applications. Provides lists for senior housing, residential care and skilled nursing facilities.

Braille and Talking Book Library

Provides free digital books and magazines. Special players are supplied and the books are mailed postage paid.

California Telephone Access Program

Free service which provides accessible telephones for consumers with hearing, sight loss, or physical disability. 

Dial-A-Ride

The Dial-a-Ride System is a door-to-door service available to those who cannot use Public Transportation. Application is available here.

Volunteer Driver Program from the Area 1 Agency on Aging

Volunteer transportation service open to those 50 years of age and older, who are living independently in the Eureka, Eel River Valley, Arcata or McKinleyville areas. Non-emergency medical or grocery rides only.

Redwood Coast Transit (Paratransit)

Wheelchair accessible curb-to-curb service is available throughout the Crescent City area. Please call for a reservation the day before you travel. Advance scheduling improves pickup and drop-off times and will help you to arrive on time.

Dial-A-Ride operates from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
