Aug 16(2 events) – When: 4th Wednesday August 26th 12:00-1:30pm Where: 4539 Occidental Road, Santa Rosa, ca. In these uncertain times, join us to gather, find inner peace, and send healing energy into the world. The labyrinth is a timeless tool for finding your way. Tactile handheld labyrinths will be available for use in class and at home, and if the weather is not too hot, we’ll walk the Earle Baum Labyrinth outdoors, taking in the sounds, scents, and beauty of nature along the way. (All day) August 15 – August 17$1,000 for the first/blind student, $250 for each additional family member (Financial Support and Scholarship Information) EHC invites former staff members to return to their home in the hills and share the magic of EHC with their own families. This special session honors the generations of counselors, leaders, and friends who have helped shape the EHC story. This weekend will blend nostalgia and new memories through favorite camp activities like swimming, boating, archery, campfire songs, talent shows, and hikes to hidden spots that hold decades of stories. With a mix of relaxed family time and camp-style adventures, it’s the perfect chance to reconnect with old friends, introduce your family to EHC’s community spirit, and celebrate the legacy you helped build. Whether you worked one summer or a dozen, you’ll find that the heart of camp still feels like coming home. |

We look at cultural traditions and practices around the world. We will discuss and practice together. Mike Cole, a veteran of all things blindness, leads this call-in forum to discuss the many day-to-day ins and outs of blindness—from daily living in your home environment to navigating the vast expanse of bureaucracies. – When: 1st Monday August 3rd from 12:00-2:00pm Where: 4539 Occidental Road, Santa Rosa, CA, Room 3 Bringing Audio Description alive. Together we learn about the real people who describe films and streaming shows for us. The written script, the choice of what type of voice, the timing of words into the film experience. Listen to the voice performers being interviewed. Join us for a fascinating topic. |

Some folks drum, sing, or dance, while others simply relax and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Instruments are provided, or feel free to bring your own. No experience is needed. Everyone is welcome! We're excited to welcome three talented volunteer leaders who will help make this program even more engaging and inspiring:

Each session extends kindness to yourself and others using simple phrases like “May you be safe, may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you live with ease.” – When: Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30 AM Where: 4539 Occidental Rd, Santa Rosa RSVP: Tai Chi RSVP Link or Patricia Discover the gentle art of Tai Chi Chuan class. Beginners are guided through touch-based positioning and verbal descriptions. Chairs are available for seated postures. Dance bars provide stability for standing practice. Tai Chi can improve balance, flexibility, coordination, and focus; reduce stress; and support joint health and circulation. It’s fun. Enjoy fun activities with your little one, ages 0-6, while learning strategies to support your child's visual, sensory, motor and concept development. Connect with other families who understand and share your experience raising a child who is blind, has low vision, or Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Weekly activities are designed to be accessible for all, and to build upon monthly themes that you can integrate into your family routines. All are welcome! August 20th - Join us to meet Dr. Wright, the Lighthouse Low Vision Clinic Optometrist and the new Lighthouse Occupational Therapist, Gabriel Bates OT. They will tell us about themselves and what the goals are for the low vision clinic appointments. |
