If you would like to complete your ballot in advance of the election with a LightHouse volunteer, we are offering a few times in the Bay Area to work with a volunteer to complete the ballot. If you are eligible to vote in the upcoming General Election and have not already registered, the deadline to register to vote is October 24. You can register to vote at: https://registertovote.ca.gov/ If you would like to schedule an appointment to have a volunteer support you in voting, please email volunteer@lighthouse-sf.org or call 415-694-7320. The gym is located at 2100 Browning St. Berkeley. Practice is open to all, no experience necessary. Whether you’re a goalball pro or new to the game, you now have the chance to get exercise and meet new people. Created in 1946 as a way to help blind and low vision veterans rehabilitate, participants compete in teams of three, and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into the opponents' goal. If anyone playing the game has some level of vision, they wear a blindfold. The practice is designed for all ages and experience levels and is free of charge. If you do not have your own goalball equipment, you’ll be provided with elbow pads, knee pads, and eyeshades.

For more information about the upcoming November 8 election, please go to the California Secretary of State’s Election page- https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections 1:00 pm: COVID-19 Bivalent Booster & Flu Shot Clinic (in-person)1:00 pm: COVID-19 Bivalent Booster & Flu Shot Clinic (in-person) – In partnership with The San Francisco Department of Public Health, LightHouse is happy to once again provide a convenient space for the disability community to access Covid-19 boosters and flu shots. The clinic takes place at LightHouse San Francisco at 1155 Market St., 10th Floor. Everyone five years of age and older will be eligible to receive a booster if it has been at least three months since their last. Bivalent COVID-19 vaccines include a component of the original virus strain to provide broad protection against COVID-19 and a component of the Omicron variant to provide better protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant. For more info, please visit the FDA bivalent booster info page. The flu shot will also be available on this day. Appointments are not required but you can make one; this will also help expedite the check-in process. The LightHouse is scent-free. Please abstain from wearing colognes, perfumes, or other scented products. Additionally, coffee must be securely lidded at all times and citrus should not be peeled on the premises. Thanks for supporting our efforts to respect chemical sensitivities!
