  • Volunteer Day at Enchanted Hills Camp

Volunteer Day at Enchanted Hills Camp

    Nov 2

Be a part of the rebuild – join us for Volunteer Day at Enchanted Hills Camp

We need your help! Please volunteer with us on November 2 and help ensure that Enchanted Hills Camp will serve campers for many generations to come.

Two years ago, half of Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind was lost in the devastating Wine Country Fires. Since then we've been able to rebuild thanks in large part to a large number of our community and volunteers who were able to donate their time to Enchanted Hills. Since the fires, we have had two full summer camp sessions and several Changing Vision, Changing Lives, attesting to the importance of this volunteer work.

We are going to be working on projects like fire abatement, trail clearing, painting, general camp betterment projects, and more!

    When: Saturday, November 2, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a BBQ lunch

Where: Enchanted Hills Camp, 3410 Mt. Veeder Road, Napa 94558 (see below for transportation option)

Age: All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian with you.

    Please note:

    • Volunteer jobs will be outside and you may be standing for long periods.
    • Temperatures in November will likely be cool. In the event of inclement weather, we will cancel.
    • Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes and bring work/gardening gloves, if you have them
    • Bring a reusable water bottle

    Transportation:

We will have a shuttle available from Ed Roberts Campus (3075 Adeline in Berkeley, at Ashby BART).

Meet at Ed Roberts Campus at 7:45 a.m. We will leave for EHC promptly at 8:00 a.m

IMPORTANT: You must reserve your spot on the bus as we only have a select number of places available. We will return to Ed Roberts Campus around 5:00 p.m., depending on traffic.

Please RSVP by using this form or by calling 415-694-7320. If you have any questions, please email volunteer@lighthouse-sf.org.

We hope to see you on November 2!

  • Welcome to Windows 10

    Welcome to Windows 10

    Nov 7

Welcome to Windows 10! Come join the LightHouse access tech team as we explore features and functions of Windows 10, yes Windows 10.

Do you have concerns, are you skeptical, do you wonder why you can’t stick with Windows 7 instead of learning a new operating system? The time has come to make the transition and we will help to allay your concerns and share our knowledge of the differences between Windows7 and Windows 10. We will point out some of the new features of Windows 10, explore both the similarities and differences between the two operating systems and explain why the transition has become necessary.

You must be an enrolled LightHouse student to participate. To sign up for the class, contact Shen Kuan at 415-694-7312 or skuan@lighthouse-sf.org This class is free to participants through support from the City of San Francisco’s SF Connected program.
