9:00 am: Enchanted Hills Camp Virtual Youth Session

Jul 6

Enchanted Hills Camp is closed for in-person programs this summer, but that won’t stop us from having a virtual Youth Session.

During the week of July 6 through July 10, EHC would like to invite youth that are blind or have low vision under the age of 13 from all over to join us for our daily camp programs between 9:00 am and 10:00 am Pacific

Our daily Zoom-based activities will be led by staff that are blind or have low vision and will consist of music, art, and interactive games and activities. Youth will gain insight from mentors and make friends with peers who are blind and have low vision.

Parents & Guardians: We’d love your help getting your children connected to our virtual camp session, however once they have joined, we ask that you please give them the space to participate individually.

RSVP by Friday, July 3 or send questions to Jamey Gump at jgump@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7372.

4:00 pm: Enchanted Hills Camp Virtual Counselor-in-Training Program

Jul 6

July 6 through July 9, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., daily & July 10, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Virtual Enchanted Hills Camp Counselor-in-Training Program (CIT) focuses on developing leaders who are blind or have low vision through job exploration and virtual-based learning experiences. Training takes place through discussion, observation and practice under the supervision of the administrative staff at camp. Most importantly a successful applicant will develop a strong work ethic that they can apply to any leadership experience.

This program is designed for youth ages 14 to 20 who are blind or have low vision and are serious about improving their leadership skills. CITs will learn EHC history, health and safety at camp, and much more. There will be small assignments for you to complete throughout the week. After a week of training, our newest group of CITs will put their newly acquired skills to the test when they lead the Virtual Youth & Family Campfire on Saturday, July 11.

We encourage applicants with a variety of previous camping experiences to apply. Contact Alyah Thomas at AThomas@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7345 for more info.

5:30 pm: EHC Give Back Summer Concert Series: Maceo Williams (Singer songwriter jam/Fireside camp singalong) (online)

Jul 10

Join us for a Facebook Live concert series with marvelously talented musicians every Friday evening June 12 through August 8 at 5:30 p.m PST. Concerts benefit the life-changing programs of Enchanted Hills Camp and the installation of Chimehenge.

We are raising money for Chimehenge, an interactive community musical instrument of epic proportions. Created by the fanciful scientist designers at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, ten-foot tall chimes of various widths are suspended on a frame that make musical tones when hit with mallets.
This interactive, audible sculpture will be installed in a glen in the woods on an offshoot of the main nature trail at Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind. Enchanting indeed!

Help us raise $25,000 for the surfacing, trail extension and installation of Chimehange for our campers who have low vision and are blind.

EHC Give Back Summer Concert Series Full Schedule:
June 12 Graham Norwood (Folk rock, singer/songwriter)
June 19 Lawrence Brown And the Vitruvian Project (R&B Funk and covers)
