1:00 pm: Waste Management Training (online)1:00 pm: Waste Management Training (online) – LightHouse is pleased to announce that in collaboration with the San Francisco Department of Environment, we will be hosting an educational training session on waste management for our staff and community members on August 24 at 1:00 PM. This training will be a virtual event hosted via Zoom. The training will focus on waste management, and will include the “what, where, how, and why” for handling your everyday waste streams of recycling, compost, and landfill. This training will be beneficial to all LightHouse staff and students – not only when at 1155 Market St., but in your everyday travels and at home as well. Together, we can learn best practices in caring for our local environment. Participants may download training materials here. 12:00 pm: San Francisco Department of Elections Info Session (online)12:00 pm: San Francisco Department of Elections Info Session (online) – Representatives from the SF Department of Elections will discuss accessible services the Department provides and how redistricting might impact voters in the November 8 election. This is a virtual event. To register, please contact Sabrina Bolus at sbolus@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7607. 2:00 pm: Introduction to AT Session 2 (online)2:00 pm: Introduction to AT Session 2 (online) – An 8 week course that introduces access technology concepts, terminology, and options on smartphones and computers in a group setting. The goal for this group introductory course is to help students not only learn about the basics of access technology but to also learn alongside a community. With our knowledgeable and patient AT instructors, we hope to provide a solid foundation for people who are completely new to access technology or who want to solidify their understanding of what access technology is and can do to empower them. Disclaimer: Session 2 has been fully booked already. If you are interested in joining Session 3, which will start in October, you may email jko@lighthouse-sf.org to be added to the email campaign and put on wait list. 6:00 pm: 30% & Growing (hybrid)6:00 pm: 30% & Growing (hybrid) – Working professionals and job seekers alike unite online and in person at the LightHouse HQ (1155 Market St., San Francisco) for a juicy conversation exploring favorite interview questions and how they may be answered. In person students can join at 6:00 for a catered meal and drinks ($10 at the door) and social hour. At 7:00, we welcome our online contingent to the mix when we will challenge each other with the best interview questions ever.
