5:30 pm: EHC Give Back Summer Concert Series: Phil Madeira. (Singer/ Songwriter) (online)

Jul 31

Legendary singer songwriter Phil Madeira joins us this Friday, July 31 for our next live concert

Phil Madeira is a multi-faceted musician whose career seemed destined to flower in the authentic, song-centered culture of Nashville. In his 35 years in Music City, he's been a singer, a songwriter, a composer, a producer who specializes in piano, organ and accordion. Since launching his professional career in the mid 1970s, he's been a trusted contributor in the studio and on stage. Quietly he's accumulated important industry accolades, including an ASCAP Humanitarian Award, and a Dove Award for his songwriting, as well as induction into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame. As a solo artist, he's released eight albums. He produced two volumes of the acclaimed multi-artist collaboration Mercyland: Hymns For The Rest Of Us and he's the author of God On The Rocks: Distilling Religion, Savoring Faith , a philosophical memoir published in 2013. Phil comes to us through Will Simpson, long time nurse at EHC, and friend to Phil, who has graciously donated his time to us in support of music camp and fundraising for Chimehendge.

To learn more about Phil go to his: Facebook, FBLiveStreaming

Chimehenge is an interactive community musical instrument of epic proportions. Created by the fanciful scientist/designers at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, It is composed of ten-foot tall chimes of various widths suspended on a frame that make musical tones when hit with mallets.

This interactive, audible sculpture will be installed in a glen in the woods on an offshoot of the main nature trail at Enchanted Hills Camp. Enchanting indeed!

Help us raise $25,000 for the surfacing, trail extension and installation  of Chimehenge for our blind campers.

5:30 pm: EHC Give Back Summer Concert Series: Bruce Cockburn (Singer songwriter/ Folk) (online)

Aug 14

Join us for a Facebook Live concert series with marvelously talented musicians every Friday evening June 12 through August 8 at 5:30 p.m PST. Concerts benefit the life-changing programs of Enchanted Hills Camp and the installation of Chimehenge.

We are raising money for Chimehenge, an interactive community musical instrument of epic proportions. Created by the fanciful scientist designers at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, ten-foot tall chimes of various widths are suspended on a frame that make musical tones when hit with mallets.
This interactive, audible sculpture will be installed in a glen in the woods on an offshoot of the main nature trail at Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind. Enchanting indeed!

Help us raise $25,000 for the surfacing, trail extension and installation of Chimehange for our campers who have low vision and are blind.

EHC Give Back Summer Concert Series Full Schedule:
June 12 Graham Norwood (Folk rock, singer/songwriter)
June 19 Lawrence Brown And the Vitruvian Project (R&B Funk and covers)
June 26 Mariana Sandoval (Opera)
July 10 Maceo Williams (Singer songwriter jam/Fireside camp singalong)
July 17 Christina Jones (Opera singer)
July 24 Fernando Apan (Classical pianist)
July 31 Phil Madeira. (Singer/ Songwriter)
Aug 8 EHC Alumni Showcase Concert (Mariana, Fernando, Graham, Daniel Cavazos, Roberto and Bill McCann Maceo)
Aug 14 Bruce Cockburn (Singer songwriter/ Folk)

Each event will be curated by an emcee, with a live Q&A.

5:00 pm: Cards Against Humanity (online)

Aug 21

Join in on sizzling hot fun with a side of ridiculous while we gather for a few hours of Cards Against Humanity (CAH) hosted by Bay Area Blind Mom. On the third Friday of the summer months, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., log onto RS Games for an adults-only card night. Grab your favorite beverage and join friends across the nation on the RS Game platform and a little Zoom convo.

You must be comfortable with, or willing to learn, both the Zoom and RS Games platform. Prior knowledge of how to play CAH is not necessary. Detailed instructions on how to play CAH on RS Games will be handled just prior to playing the game. For details on how to join the Zoom chat and the actual Cards Against Humanity game, you must be 18 years of age or older and RSVP to Adult Program Coordinator Serena Olsen for the game night password and Zoom access info: solsen@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7316.

Have burning questions? Here are some answers that might help.
Q: How do I download RS Games?
A: To download RS Games, visit http://www.rsgames.org/downloads.php and navigate to the download heading for the software appropriate to your preferred device.

Q: What type of device is necessary for playing?
A: Computers work best on the RS Games platform. However, with a little extra effort, smart phones do work.

Q: How will I know which game to join?
A: Select Cards Against Humanity from the list of games in the main menu of RS Games. Select join and find the game hosted by Bay Area Blind Mom. The password will be provided with Zoom access info.

Q: Why is there a Zoom part to the evening’s festivities.
A: Although RS Games has a voice chat option, it often makes glitches happen in the game. Being able to chat with friends on a separate platform such as Zoom makes for fun and frivolity. Simultaneously using both platforms make for an awesome time with friends.
