Sep 1Get your creative juices flowing every Thursday afternoon as the Craft Room reopens in person for us to explore a variety of different arts media and prompts that will change each month. Loose your curiosity and sense of play in a supportive space where you are welcome to experiment with the current projects or bring your own craft to work on alongside friends. No experience is necessary. Wear or bring something you don't mind getting dirty.
THIS MONTH: Beat the heat and visit HQ to learn a perfect project for those hot summer daze. Slow Stitching is a meditative process that is all about being in the moment as you assemble an assortment of meaningful fabric colors, textures and shapes that make you feel contented, both in their symbolism and their handling as you stitch them onto your creation. We will have open eye needles, threads and an assortment of repurposed fabrics to choose from and you are also welcome to bring in your own favorite sewing tools and fabrics.
If you have any questions, please contact Maia at Mscott@gighthouse-sf.org.
