Connections
This tour of objects from the permanent collection at the de Young will connect traditional native cultures with contemporary American art. Art from Africa will be compared with art from African American artists, Art from Asia will be connected to works by Asian American artists, and art from native American people will be compared and connected with art produced in contemporary times in North America.

Thursday, September 10, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
What's the Story?
In this tour, participants will be introduced to narratives present in several works from the permanent collection at the Legion of Honor, including stories from the classical era, the Old and New Testaments, and from the artists’ imaginations.

Thursday, October 8, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Works in Three dimensions
This tour will include sculptures from the collection at the Legion of Honor and will span the history of art from earliest times, 5000 years ago or more, up to the twentieth century. Sculpture in stone and bronze as well as ceramics and porcelain are included.

5:00 pm: Cards Against Humanity (online)

Aug 21

Join in on sizzling hot fun with a side of ridiculous while we gather for a few hours of Cards Against Humanity (CAH) hosted by Bay Area Blind Mom. On the third Friday of the summer months, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., log onto RS Games for an adults-only card night. Grab your favorite beverage and join friends across the nation on the RS Game platform and a little Zoom convo.

You must be comfortable with, or willing to learn, both the Zoom and RS Games platform. Prior knowledge of how to play CAH is not necessary. Detailed instructions on how to play CAH on RS Games will be handled just prior to playing the game. For details on how to join the Zoom chat and the actual Cards Against Humanity game, you must be 18 years of age or older and RSVP to Adult Program Coordinator Serena Olsen for the game night password and Zoom access info: solsen@lighthouse-sf.org or 415-694-7316.

Have burning questions? Here are some answers that might help.
Q: How do I download RS Games?
A: To download RS Games, visit http://www.rsgames.org/downloads.php and navigate to the download heading for the software appropriate to your preferred device.

Q: What type of device is necessary for playing?
A: Computers work best on the RS Games platform. However, with a little extra effort, smart phones do work.

Q: How will I know which game to join?
A: Select Cards Against Humanity from the list of games in the main menu of RS Games. Select join and find the game hosted by Bay Area Blind Mom. The password will be provided with Zoom access info.

Q: Why is there a Zoom part to the evening’s festivities.
A: Although RS Games has a voice chat option, it often makes glitches happen in the game. Being able to chat with friends on a separate platform such as Zoom makes for fun and frivolity. Simultaneously using both platforms make for an awesome time with friends.
