It highlights the importance of assertiveness and adjusting to a multi-sensed life through daily practices like organizing spaces, engaging in creative interests, and using technology. The chapter emphasizes the need for shifting away from a sight-dominated world and using other senses for tasks to enhance independence. It also explores the emotional and social aspects of recovery, advocating for community support, maintaining relationships, and finding confidence in one’s self-worth amidst changing circumstances. Oct 21: Chapter 12, A Whole Person Again, emphasizes that life with vision changes can still be fulfilling and independent. Trusting yourself and speaking up are essential steps in regaining control. Support from mentors, rehabilitation programs, or family teams can provide necessary guidance.
