Employment Immersion April Virtual Workshop
April's workshop runs 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekdays from April 5 through 30.
There IS a job market! Job seekers who are blind and have low vision are in demand to work remotely. Let LightHouse support you on your pathway to employment in these challenging times.
Our award-winning Employment Immersion program is now available virtually. Now is the time to join us via the Zoom conferencing platform. The program begins the first Monday of every month and runs each weekday. This comprehensive month-long training is specifically designed for people who are blind and have low vision. We are committed to providing group and individual guidance from the fundamentals of job search, to the complexities of disclosure of one’s disability with pride and confidence, to instruction on job search techniques, to honing interview skills. Most importantly, this program focuses on the participant’s individual job goals.

Home Accessibility Assessment Workshop
You’re spending more time at home than ever before, so why not learn how to make your home environment more accessible? LightHouse’s Rehabilitation Department presents a 2-day Home Accessibility Workshop for adults who want to improve the safety and overall accessibility of their home.
Join Orientation & Mobility Specialists Sarah McIntyre and Jennifer Huey for a 2-part Zoom workshop on home accessibility. Learn how to make a room-by-room assessment of your home, identify possible safety hazards, and brainstorm possible solutions that you can implement to increase the overall safety and accessibility of your home.
This workshop is open to adult residents of San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, West Contra Costa, and East Marin Counties who are non-DOR consumers. If you’re a consumer of DOR and would like to attend, contact Sarah McIntyre for more details. This workshop will use the Zoom platform; participants with access to a telephone are welcome to join by calling in.
Dates: Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. and Friday, April 23, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. PST.

Cada mes conversamos sobre distintos servicios, aplicaciones y dispositivos disponibles para personas ciegas y con baja visión. ¡Te esperamos!

East Bay Regional Park Tour: Wildlife in the Bay Area, Three Birds
Wildlife in the Bay Area: Three Birds: The fifth program in the wildlife series will focus on three special birds who are uniquely adapted for Bay Area life (and many other parts of California). Learn about the Western Bluebird, Least Tern, and Cooper’s Hawk.
