    There IS a job market! Job seekers who are blind and have low vision are in demand to work remotely. Let LightHouse support you on your pathway to employment in these challenging times.

    Our award-winning Employment Immersion program is now available virtually. Now is the time to join us via the Zoom conferencing platform. The program begins the first Monday of every month and runs each weekday. This comprehensive month-long training is specifically designed for people who are blind and have low vision. We are committed to providing group and individual guidance from the fundamentals of job search, to the complexities of disclosure of one’s disability with pride and confidence, to instruction on job search techniques, to honing interview skills. Most importantly, this program focuses on the participant’s individual job goals.

    Please join Katt Jones, George Freeman, and a panel of Self Defense experts from the STRIVE4You SEED program on Saturday October 16th at 1 pm pacific time for our third and final “Your Personal Safety Workshop.” This session will be all about answering your most dire safety questions to prepare you for getting back into the community.   • East Bay Regional Park Tours

    East Bay Regional Park Tours

    Thanks to the generosity of the East Bay Regional Park District, LightHouse students of all ages and from all over have been able to come together monthly virtually to learn something new about the flora and fauna of the Bay Area. If you are blind or low vision and want to learn more about nature, we invite you to join us between 3:00 and 4:00 pm on the third Wednesday of the month as our naturalist from the East Bay Regional Park District, Michael, leads us in that month’s nature lesson. The October 20th gathering will have us learning about the endangered species of the East Bay.
