1:00 pm: Superfest Film Festival (hybrid)

The Superfest Disability Film Festival features films from around the world celebrating disability culture by featuring work by and about people with disabilities.

Watch the films in person or on-demand virtually.

The first day of films take place at the Freight and Salvage at 2020 Addison St in Berkeley near the Downtown Berkley BART Station. After the first day of films, there will be community social time.

The second day of films take place at the Asian Art Museum at 200 Larkin St. in San Francisco, across from the main library and near the Civic Center BART Station. After the second day of films, stay around for a panel discussion featuring some of the makers of one of the featured films.

All films will have closed audio descriptions via the All4Access app.

Saturday, October 22 at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, from noon to 2:00 pm

Sunday, October 23 at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

You can purchase a Superfest pass that will provide you access to both days of in-person films plus virtual access to the films. Passes range from $0 to $100. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

G-Vibes are Gratitude Visually Impaired Blind Energizing Sessions. Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gather online and share what you feel grateful for in a safe and welcoming space and hear what others share as well. These mid-week sessions can help you feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve your health, deal with adversity and build strong relationships.

Pull up a comfy chair and join Community Outreach Specialist Sheri Albers in the LightHouse virtual living room to talk about all things LightHouse! Have you been experiencing changes in your vision that have been affecting your daily life, but did not know who to talk to? LightHouse in San Francisco may have the solutions you have been looking for. This is a safe place to bring the questions that you have been wanting to ask. As always, Raqi from the Adaptations Store will be on hand to let us know what is new in the world of low vision and blindness products.

Get your creative juices flowing every week in the LightHouse Craft Room. We’ll explore a variety of different arts media and prompts that will change each month. Let loose your curiosity and sense of play in a supportive space where you are welcome to experiment with the current LightHouse projects, or bring your own craft to work on alongside friends. No experience is necessary. Wear or bring something you don't mind getting dirty.

This October, we will continue exploring book structures such as map fold books, one page zines and stab stitch books along with other paper things that cam be opened such as origami boxes and envelopes.

Artists, Makers, Creatives and thinkers; do we have the perfect Friday Night for you. Join together with other artists, writers, musicians, artisans and anyone who enjoys creative process to share works in progress and completed creations in a laid back and friendly vibe. Give and receive feedback about shared work if it's desired and support our community as they press forward to complete projects for festivals, shows or personal growth. Whatever you're making, bring it!
