EHC Changes Lives

“I’ve been going to EHC since I was five years old. I have made a lot of friends over the years – other teens who are blind or visually impaired, and I’ve had the chance to be independent and explore new things. I’ve learned so many skills and have grown so much as a person.” - Denise, former camper and EHC Counselor

Enchanted Hills campers play a lively game of fusball

Enchanted Hills Camp (EHC) is located on 311 acres on Mount Veeder just 10 miles west of Napa California. Its tranquil setting has enhanced the lives of blind and visually impaired campers for over five decades.

In 2009, 405 blind and visually impaired campers and their families attended EHC sessions, including long-time camper, Joyce Cid who says, “People leave EHC and go home not only with lifelong friendships, but also the confidence to accomplish new tasks and overcome challenges.”

Not only has Joyce been a camper for many years, but she has also helped us raise funds, allowing other youth and adults have the unique EHC experience. We are so grateful to Joyce and our many other friends who help keep EHC vital, year after year.

2010 marks the EHC’s 60th anniversary, and we want you to celebrate with us! Please consider getting involved:

If you or your family members have vision loss, register to attend camp! Please see the description of our 2010 Sessions to learn which session is right for you.

Plan to attend our 60th Anniversary Celebration on July 3 – contact Tony Fletcher at (415) 694-7319 to learn more about being a part of this special day.

Help us build support for 2010 EHC sessions:

  • Invite us to speak to your service club, church group or other community groups you may be a part of – we want to spread the word about EHC!
  • Register and tell your friends about Napa Rotary’s annual Cycle for Sight ride – EHC is a beneficiary! Visit our Cycle for Sight page for more information.
  • Millions of people connect through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other on-line communities every day. Motivate your on-line networks to pledge their support to EHC by giving $10.00 (or more!) at http://www.lighthouse-sf.org/help/donate/. Every dollar helps someone get to EHC.
  • Contact Jennifer Yeagley at (415) 694-7333 or jyeagley@lighthouse-sf.org to share your ideas about raising funds for 2010 sessions.

Register for an EHC tour in summer 2010 to see firsthand how your investment transforms lives. Contact Jennifer Yeagley to learn more.

You can make a difference in someone’s life today by pledging your support to EHC. You can also donate items on our Wish List or volunteer your time.

“I am so grateful to the LightHouse and Enchanted Hills Camp. Family camp was the first time in ten years I didn’t know what to do with myself because my kids could be independent. They played and were actually part of the group! EHC gave them the freedom to grow and run and be kids.” – Danielle, Family Camp Session participant
