Annual Whitewater Rafting Trip and Campout

Join the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired for our annual whitewater rafting and camp out trip on the South Fork of the American River with our friends at Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC).

Youth and adults ages 14 and up are invited to attend this exciting rafting trip and overnight campout. The adventure begins at the LightHouse in San Francisco on the afternoon of Saturday, September 16. Our aquatic adventure will take us to the South Fork of the American River, where we will spend the night in the woods before a full day day of whitewater rafting on Sunday, September 17. After our river float, we will hit the road for San Francisco and return by Sunday evening.

Who: Youth and Adults who are blind or have low vision (ages 14 and up)

What: Whitewater Rafting and Overnight Campout

When: Depart 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16 and return 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17

Where: South Fork of the American River at ETC’s Overnight Camp

Transportation: Round trip transportation will be provided from the LightHouse to the campsite for those that RSVP.

Waiver: Each participant must submit all necessary LightHouse and ETC waiver.  Please contact the trip coordinator to obtain copies of the necessary forms.

Cost: The cost of the trip is $100.00 per student and includes river rafting experience, overnight camping costs, round trip transportation from San Francisco to the ETC campsite, Saturday’s dinner as well as Sunday breakfast and lunch. Spots will only be reserved once payment and all necessary forms have been received.
